All Natural Scrubs

Other than eating, one of the main way your body acquires nutrients is transdermally – through the skin.  Roughly 60 percent of the substances put on the skin is eventually absorbed into the bloodstream. That means your skin is absorbing vitamins, minerals… and even harmful chemicals that are hiding in soaps, facial cleansers, body washes, perfumes, lotions etc.  Expensive anti-aging creams and soaps are well intention-ed, however, using them might actually be doing more harm than good.

Begin with wet skin —warm-to-hot water is ideal to soften the skin. Allow the shower to run,  let the warm water soften the skin and prepare for exfoliation. Pause the running water while you exfoliate. Apply the sugar or salt scrub in a circular motion. It is important to maintain a gentle pressure not to damage the skin. You can start wherever is most convenient and comfortable, whether this is from the feet up or from the arms down. Rinse it all off with lukewarm water.

FACE:

Gently massage scrub in circular motions for 30-60 seconds. Rinse and pat dry, the oil will absorb into your skin immediately.

+

HANDS:

Massage into your hands and fingernails for 1 minute. Rinse & pat dry.

+

LEGS & FEET:

The coconut oil is very slippery, be very careful not to slip! Massage onto your legs and feet, rinse and pat dry.

A waterproof container is key in keeping the scrub shelf life long lasting. Otherwise, your hard work will be washed down the drain as sugar easily dissolves in water and humidity may cause the sugar in the scrub to clump and then harden, making it unusable. These 4.25 oz airtight glass jars are the perfect size and are perfect to re-using once you’re scrub is gone. If you plan to bring your scrubs on the go these BPA free 3oz travel bottles are cute and functional! All in all, any container will do, just so long as it is airtight and waterproof!
